Meet the Winner of the AARP Caregiver Accelerator

Bonnie K. Brown, founder of A BETTER LIFE®, was crowned the winner of the Caregiver Accelerator’s 2017 Florida Pitch Competition.

Sponsored by AARP, the Caregiver Accelerator program supports and promotes new business start-ups that cater to the overwhelming demand for services, technologies, and products, in order to help today’s family caregivers. Graduates of the Caregiver Accelerator program from all across Florida presented their new business models and competed for the top prize.

AARP has determined the target areas that are ripe for innovation include; care coordination, social well-being, activities of daily living assistance, health and safety support, transitions of care and caregiver quality-of-life support. Judges felt that A BETTER LIFE’s® Educational Training & Coaching Programs, along with their Medical Organizer and handy “GO” Bag (to help make doctor’s visit more tolerable and comfortable) were just what today’s busy caregivers needed. They need real-world solutions to their real-world problems, and Bonnie K. Brown’s new business model will give them just that.

“I am thrilled and honored to be selected as the Judge’s Choice Winner for the Caregiver Accelerator’s Pitch Competition,” Bonnie said. “Caregiving is one of the most demanding jobs there is, and I am so excited that my products and services will be able to help so many during their difficult time of need. To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honors that there is.”

Bonnie’s goal is to help give caregivers everywhere gain the necessary tools and skills they need to maneuver properly through the medical maze and long-term care aging system. “It’s a jungle out there and people really need help! They simply don’t know where to begin and don’t know what to do. After having 8 major operations myself in under 11 years, I know the many challenges and pitfalls they face. That’s why I developed my Self-Advocacy SystemTM and have been using it effectively on myself and others as a professional Medical Advocate for the past 15 years. I know that when you learn “How To” advocate for yourself (and others), you can put the power of advocacy to work for you in such a useful way that will enable you to save a fortune ... and to save lives. I’ve seen it work over, and over, and over again.”

Bonnie believes that her Self-Advocacy SystemTM and special framework, entitled the “8 Ways to Wellness”, along with her “10 Essentials for Healthcare Navigation” will help caregivers everywhere achieve superior medical outcomes at every stage of life and will help them to get exceptional and affordable quality care.
