How well you’re able to communicate with your Doctor is one of the most important parts of getting superior health outcomes. Advocating for yourself or a loved one isn’t always easy, because time is very abbreviated during typical medical visits.
A good Doctor-Patient relationship requires you to show up prepared and make the most of your time together. That means asking good questions, clarifying information and making sure you understand all of their instructions.
It also means being able to articulate your concerns quickly, clearly and succinctly, and communicating any changes in your health. By taking a more active role, you can help reduce medical errors and avoid costly complications.
Doctors never really tell you HOW to best prepare or make the most of those 7.9 minutes that you actually get with them, on average, although they really should! Learning how to become a better patient will dramatically improve your relationship with your Doctor and lead to far better results.
As part of the Educational Training & Coaching Programs that I've been developing, I created this special Doctor Visit Guide to help make every moment count during these medical visits and I'm glad to share it with you.
It includes a wonderful "Advocating Approach" to follow when talking to your Doctor, as well as an important "Doctor Visit Checklist" that will show you what to do before, during, and after medical visits.
How many times have YOU left the Doctor's office, only to realize on the ride home that you forgot to mention something really important that concerned you? I know how frustrating that can be! By following this Doctor Visit Guide, you'll be sure to get all your needs met and questions answered.
